If a pronoun is a way of shortening a proper noun, then why "shorten" "God" to "He" - to save 1 letter?

I don't know what kind of god you are talking about. But my God, the Creator of heaven and earth, is Spirit and a spirit has no gender! When do we understand that God does NOT fit into the little box of our peanut brain!
