Is it really necessary that I play sports to get into college?
I don't play organized team sports. Never have and I seriously doubt I will. It's unnecessary. I don't have a problem with weight I'm actually on the slender side. Should I ever have a problem with fitness, I can hit the gym or run some laps. Secondly, I suck at all sports. I've tried every single one I can think of and there are none that I can really try out for that won't make me look like an idiot. I don't need friends, I have plenty so why should I join a sports team just to make new ones? I really love to dance and I tap dance and am planning to become a cheerleader 10th grade year. What I'm asking is: Is it really necessary to play a sport to get into your desired university? I'd love to attend New York University, Colombia, or Penn State. Maybe a college here in Mississippi. All I'm saying is I don't see how sports especially ones I do not enjoy will benefit me personally in the long run. I ask this because my mom and dad keep asking if they want me to sign up for volleyball (not even a sport in my book pfft lol) or soccer or some of that other stupid sh*t. Thanks a lot for any input and oh Merry Christmas!
